SCHOOL VIOLENCE

Windover High School’s Board of Directors, Principal, and school staff are diligently working together to keep the WHS school community safe. We will continue to be transparent and inform you if there are any concerns, is news to share, or updates to give.

Please have conversations with your children about the seriousness of making threats of school violence and/or making false threats. There have been no threats to WHS at this time. School leaders and law enforcement will investigate every threat and take whatever action is warranted to protect our school community.

Youth will face prosecution whether the threats are found to be validated or not. Under Michigan law, making threats involving schools is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $20,000.

If there are any concerns, we are asking students and community members to report any threats they see/hear/overhear on social media, text messages, in the hallways, etc. by immediately contacting your school principal, law enforcement, or by using the confidential state-wide reporting tool--OK2SAY (https://www.michigan.gov/ok2say/).
